[Outdoor Class Days]

A powerful day beyond the classroom that strengthens your class group

Sometimes it helps to step outside the classroom walls.

During a NATURE Outdoor Class Day, students head outdoors together: to a woodland play area, a natural site or another outdoor location close to the school. There, we create an active and connecting day built around cooperation, challenge, play and reflection.

The activities themselves are not the main goal. What matters is what students experience along the way: giving and receiving trust, dealing with differences, working together, exploring boundaries, having fun and growing as a group.

An Outdoor Class Day can give a class group a strong start or a fresh boost — creating space for connection, wellbeing and stronger group dynamics.

What can you expect?

An Outdoor Class Day combines:

  • active group challenges,
  • playful activities,
  • outdoor experiences,
  • creative reflection,
  • and experiential learning methods.

Every programme is adapted to:

  • the age of the students,
  • the dynamics within the class,
  • the objectives of the school or teachers,
  • and the specific needs of the group.

We work in an appreciative and inclusive way: every student has a place in the group and opportunities to participate at their own pace.

Possible activities

Depending on the location and the group, an Outdoor Class Day can include:

  • group dynamics and cooperative challenges,
  • bushcraft,
  • outdoor cooking,
  • low ropes activities,
  • orientation and navigation,
  • meditative archery,
  • nature-based activities,
  • adventurous challenges,
  • reflective group activities.

Looking for an even more typical NATURE experience?

  • Bushcraft & outdoor cooking — sharing is caring
  • Low ropes — building together, building trust
  • Meditative archery — from distraction to focus

Who is it for?

For students from upper primary school onwards (approximately ages 10–12) and throughout secondary school, together with their teachers.

Programmes are available for groups from 25 students up to approximately 75 students per day.

Where do our Outdoor Class Days take place?

We work at:

  • natural play areas,
  • woodland and forest settings,
  • youth accommodation sites with outdoor space,
  • or other suitable outdoor locations close to the school.

We are happy to help you find a suitable location.

Why do schools choose our Outdoor Class Days?

Because some things grow more strongly when students experience them together.

Our Class Days create concrete opportunities to strengthen:

  • group dynamics,
  • connection and belonging,
  • communication,
  • mutual trust,
  • cooperation,
  • wellbeing,
  • and social-emotional skills.

Students get to see themselves and their classmates in a different setting. Familiar classroom roles can shift, different strengths become visible, and students practise cooperation and communication through real shared experiences.

Outdoor experiential learning gives students opportunities to act, experience, reflect and get to know one another in ways that are difficult to create inside the classroom.

For teachers, the day can also offer valuable new insights into the class group and how students interact with one another.
